Strange problem

I have a Dell E248WFP. It's been fine until now. When ever I boot it up it doesn't go to it's native res of 1920 X 1200. It go's to 1600 X 1200. There's no option for 1920 X 1200. Now here is the strange part, if I click restart and it reboots. The option for 1920 X 1200 shows up. What could be causing this?

I'm not familiar with that unit, but if there is an option for EDID on it, turn it off. Also make sure you have drivers installed for it. There may be other options in the monitors OSD where you can prevent it from happening as well, such as auto input detect or similar auto features that can be disabled.

When you say "it's been fine until now" do you mean this is a new problem? Did you change anything before it started? move anything around in the system? It sounds like a software thing, drivers sound like a good guess. Curious that they're only loading correctly with a restart.
