Strange overclock?

My mobile 2400 is very weird when it comes to overclocking. I can get to 8x200 at 1.55 volts and run prime 95 stable, anything over that with a voltage of 1.85 would cause prime 95 to fail after 30 seconds, yet for some reason i found that if i set it to 2400mhz 12x200 at 1.85 volts it is prime stable. I can not understand why it cant run 9-11x200 at 1.85 but 12x200 is perfectely fine. Just wanted to see if anyone else ever had a similar problem
