Strange noise from proc/mobo?

I'm using a pieced together of used parts system consisting of a pIII 550 and a Abit BH6 and I've been noticing lately that whenever I do anything taxing on the CPU (or really that requires just about any calculations from it), the system will start making a higher pitched noise, almost like a fan starting to go, kind of a quiet screeching.

Has anyone heard of anything else like this happening before? It still functions fine and it seems pretty stable from all my punishment. It does have a decent HSF on the proc, and it seems to stay pretty cool to the touch.
 
It's probably a fan going bad or needs qoiling. Open your case and put your ear near the fans and hopefully you can locate the bad one.
 
Well, it's very specifically when the processor is under load. Maybe it is pulling power from one of the fans only under load and causing more noise?
