Strange Error Messages from FTP server

Hello All-
I'm trying to ftp some things to an FTP server, and it accepts things without complaint, but when I try to rename or delete files, it returns:

350 Requested file action pending further information.

And failes to rename or delete.

I googled, but all those pages just seem to confirm that 350 does in fact mean that.

How would I get around that?

Thanks for any and all help, and i apologize if this is the wrong forum to ask this question.

what kind of internet connection do you have?
do you have a router?
are you sure the FTP is working fine for other people?

that's weird... so you have rights to write to a folder, but not rename or delete? check the ftp server settings and make sure you have those rights.
