OK well am I just retarded and weak or is it ridiculously hard to put the stock intel fan on my GA-P35-DS3L?? I watched the video tutorial on the intel website and the guy just pops it in like it's nothing. Do I have to modify something?

they are tricky to get on there , make sure you didnt bend the clear parts on the plastic an the black pin isnt pushed through

also if you have the board installed in the computer , it can make it pretty hard sometimes
no mods needed , just take your time an dont get pissed at it! lol:D

With my Q6600's cooler I didn't have any trouble lining up the pins and pushing them in, but it didn't feel like it was mounted properly. Is that what you're experiencing? Just take a look and make sure the pins are all the way through. If they are, then it is mounted right, for whatever reason the stock cooler doesn't sit very snug.

my advice would be to install the heatsink before installing the motherboard onto the case.

I made the mistake of not doing that and bent 4 prongs...

I just took the plastic off and used 6/32 nuts, machine screws, and #6 nylon washers. Mainly because my E2140 is nekkid.
