3-D Gaming!

"Stereoscopic 3D RETRO Gaming! Pentium III 800, Riva TNT2 Ultra Lets take the Dell XPS B800R and put the Nvidia Riva TNT2 Ultra in! The Asus V3800 card had 3D shutter glasses for real 3D gaming! Lets try it out and see if it is fun and usable! Lets get cool and put the 3D shutter glasses on! I will try Quake 2, Half-life, Need for speed 5 porsche, Unreal Tournament and Forsaken."

I had that card with them glasses. They were quickly DOA because you can't use em online in games due to their different modes, like wire frame mode. They were banned as cheats, etc.

I think that a lot of us dabbled in both the Nvidia and the tridef stereoscopic gaming fad here in the forum :)
Since tridef doesn't seem to exist for stereoscopic anymore I'll just point out that there's a subreddit. If you had the old colored "3d" glasses you could set up a profile for them, no special monitor required (the effect is more or less a novelty and depends on the game)

I used to game in 3D on my 1080p projector and 1080p monitor (I still use for web browsing).
It was really good but too low res.
I was waiting for UHD res 3D, but just as it was about to be perfected it was killed off!
No UHD displays support it, feck!

Seeing NFS Porsche again was nice, even though I did not like the game. It was the one that started the whole progression thing that killed NFS for me

Yeah I hired that game and was pretty disappointed after the good, simple fun of the originals. Have they made one since like the originals?
