Hello,i need some advise here! im trying to build a steambox to handle steam games at 1080p, tthe problem is... if i want to upgrade the graphics card i will need more power. i was thinking in something like dual pico psu, 330w power brick or something like that.
What kind of games?

I appreciate your ambition but the Sugo SG05 was invented for just this reason. :)

Even if you manage to power the GPU, you have to disipate the heat. 300W would be plenty for your setup but that setup is not enough for sleeping on highest settings

If you want to upgrade to a better card you will need a different case unless you plan to drop $300 on a LP 7850(which is probably too long and hot for the case anyway). The LP GTX 650 is about as good as it gets for affordable low profile solutions atm.

This is a much smaller case than an SG05.

That's the problem I want something like console size hehe.

Any advise on LP CPU heatsink ?
 
NH-L9i is the heatsink I would suggest...
But I'm pretty sure you won't be able to max tomb raider on a 650... I have one medium settings with tress FX off is the best setting...
 
Have you considered an Antec ISK 300-150? Bit deeper than the Wesena and still low profile, but has an internal 150W PSU which is capable of powering an Intel quad + graphics card which doesn't need external power. Also, possibility exists of PSU upgrade with some modding. For instance Seasonic SS-250SU is cheap and roughly fits, and can power just about anything that can be shoehorned into the box.

Alternately make it into a full blown HTPC which fits in with other hardware. Silverstone Milo ML03B can fit ATX PSUs and dual slot LP graphics cards, and looks like an old VHS box.

I just ordered NH-L9i, I'm currently looking at other cases just in case I found something better, I found one that support flex psu and a single slot VGA but I'm going to look those that u mention thanks

Have to agree with this. SG05 makes a tough contender in this size category.

If I were to do this myself I would probably look into getting PCIE x4 to x16 flex cables (Haven't actually tried "down-slotting" a PCIE card but the pins are serialized and stuff, should just lose bandwidth...right?

Then grab an Intel DQ77KB Thin-ITX,
8GB DDR3L SODIMM,
Ivy Bridge Xeon Processor, probably an E3-1265L v2,
Intel HTS 1155 LP CPU cooler,
Samsung 840 Pro,
maybe a WD Green/Red for storage,
GTX 670.

Using eXtreme power supply calculator (which doesn't have Ivy Xeons) and making up some numbers it would use around (probably less than) 200W.

This is kind of a hypothetical build, I actually have no real experience running x16 slots in x4, and the whole build relies on this working.

The rest of the parts were chosen for efficiency here though and you could downgrade the GPU.

Anyway, kinda just thinking out loud over here. At the end of the day, you could hunt down some pretty specialized kit or just get a SG05 and go to town.

I opened it, i disconnect "unplug" the original cable, and soldered a new motherboard usb cable to the back of the plug where the pins are soldered to the receiver.

How do you access the sync button? Or do you just sync once and forget about it?
