Hi,
First time poster - long time reader... I'm currently experiencing an unusual problem and would appreciate some advice.

My problem starts with system startup. With nothing running my MB lights are going fine. I then press the power switch and the system tries to start. My CPU cooler starts to spin and lights up, My PSU fan and lights start up, my case fans starts up and my I/O Light Flashes constantly. The light from the PSU and CPU Coolers doesn't seem to be stable - kinda flickers. This is as far as it gets.

However if I kill the power via the PSU master switch for 10 seconds and try again - all systems are go...

Any ideas/things to try/replace... Many Thanks

ASUS Crosshair MB
Zalman ZM600-HP PSU
Zalman CNPS9700 NT CPU Cooler

You need to test your system with a different PSU.. however, the symptoms point out to a PSU issue, so most likely you'll have to RMA, test it first though..

It's the motherboard. And quite frankly, nothing to worry about unless it's that much of an annoyance to you.

Thanks for the suggestions... 50/50 split tho... unfortunately the psu is outside its warranty period. If it is the motherboard, do you think it might spread and play havok somewhere else??

Probably not. If you aren't having any issues other than the cold boot problem, it's probably nothing to worry about.
