I just downloaded the newly released starstorm 56.72 drivers. Someone on the Far Cry forum is claiming a big improvement with his ti4600. Any comments about them ? Good or bad ?
I figure I can always put the regular nvidia back on if they cause any problems.

I would be wary, if there is just one person on the Far Cry forums raving about them I would stay away. Just from browsing their forums they don't have the most knowledgable people when it comes to computers. AFIAK nVidia does not even allow third party drivers, Omega used to put them out but nVidia put a stop to that. I doubt anyone has managed to put together a solid driver when nVidia cracks down on their attempts soon after they release something. I could be wrong though.

Yeah some dude on there was flipping out. Saying how before he had to run on medium settings but with this driver he could run on high without any jerkiness. I gave it a try and honestly couldn't tell a difference. It certainly wasn't more then 2-3 fps at most. At least on my rig.

I tried the Starstorm performance drivers way back when I was on a Ti4200.
Boosted 3dmark2001 score by about 1500 points, but the quality was very obviously toned down to the level of crap.

I just happened to run inti this topic yesterday sort of. I happened across the http://download.guru3d.com/rivatuner/ site and at the top of the page they show the newest downloads.
They are still making the sandstorm drivers and even have the new 56.72 ready to d/l there. I have not tried them and I am not sure if I will. But I have heard others say that drivers from other places like the Omega work very well and they are very happy with them.
I also understand Omega is also still making new NVIDIA drivers as new ones come out.
