A problem that I've been wresting with for a while....
In my new watercooled setup, my D4 pump seems to stall at startup. I can hear the motor trying to turn over but just can't quite make it. Tapping gently on the motor body almost always starts it going, though. Right now, doing this isn't a problem as I still have the side covers off- however I can't reassemble the case until I figure out a permanent solution to this...
I've searched thru the Water Cooling forum trying to find an answer, but failing (lots of discussion but no finding of the cause). I've heard that air bubbles could cause this but I'm beginning to doubt that as the pump's been 'wet' for about 3 months- if any bubbles were still in the impeller I would've thought they'd be gone by now.....
I'm looking for any other ideas to try, up to and including going with another pump (maybe a D5?). I'm running 1/2" ID lines if it makes any difference.....
