Stability Question on OC

THe CPU in my sig is both Prime and SuperPi (32M) stable at 4.2ghz and 1.53V, but crashes during the 3DMark05 CPU test. Gets through 03 no problems though. Matter of fact, i can't get through 05's CPU test at anything over 4.0ghz. Any ideas?

when you say prime stable, how long are we talking about?
 
3D could be often more demanding than prime95 or pi..
i have steinberg nuendo as an excellent stability test.
often, if 24h prime and 3dmark loops at the same time won't crash, nuendo will :)
 
so its all perfect in super Pi and prime 95 rite? hmmm have you ever thought its the graphic card?

GPU isnt what renders the 3dMark05 *cpu* tests, however what it could be is the added heat from the GPU under full load makes the cpu unstable (gpu tests run moments before cpu tests - enough to raise the ambient temperature in the vicinity of the video cards and cpu hsf.
