So I got suckered into the 160 GB newegg deal and want to do some switching around of stuff.

My current computer set up is an 80 GB SSD used as my boot drive and two traditional hard drives for data. I'd like to clone over my 80 to my 160 so my 80 could go in my laptop and was looking for suggestions on the best way to do that. I've got both firmwares up to date but found out my 80 is in IDE mode and i've heard AHCI is better. I looked in my bios and it just had options for what appeared to be all drives to be run in IDE or AHCI so not sure how to specify that either.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
 
The IDE or AHCI mode should affect the controller, not the drive - so all drives on that controller would be in AHCI mode. AHCI mode is what you want for the SSD. As for cloning, easiest way is to grab WD's clone tool (free) which is SSD aware and will keep the alignment straight when you clone it.
