1. When SSD failures occur, aren't people afraid of making use of their warranty when their personal and financial information could be stored on the NAND-chips and still retrieved form the manufacturer (or enterprise server SSD's with confidential information)?
2. When will I be able to buy Intel 520 Series SSD's?
3. Is SSD realiability mainly dependent on the controller or the SSD manufacturer? In other words, if Intel goes with a highly aggressive SF controller in the 520 series, will the failure rate increase?
4. How hard is it to install a SSD compared to a HDD? Do I just simply hook up the SATA cable and install Windows or do I first have to set a few things up in the BIOS?
5. Any other guidelines for an SSD newbie...?

1. They can get the data off the platters on a normal HD as well, so no difference really.

2. No clue. I'd buy an M4 if I had the money right now, plenty of others would too.

3. I'd buy based on controller over manufactuer.

4. Install it, set AHCI, clean Windows 7 install, enjoy

5. Dont ever defrag it

Those numbers aren't for 520s, obviously. If you want best reliability, than an intel X025M is your best bet, followed (I guess) by the 320. If you want a SATA 6GB drive, then you are looking at Crucial M4 as the most reliable. Personally, I'd stay away from Sandforce (and especially OCZ).
 
Ok thanks....thats valuable information. Now I have to decide whether to go with Crucial M4 or Intel 520. Intel has had the best reliability so far (probably not onyl because of their controllers but also becuase of their sampling/QA)....the question is whether they will maintain this image when they go with a third party hispeed SATA III controller.,...
