Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Why would it change right now? I just recently saw an article asking if it was a dead end technology. Maybe someone just looking to get published but you wouldn't have seen that a year ago.
I went back and looked at the article I saw. It agrees with Techmasta, it was referring to some SSD vendors disappearing. That makes more sense. Not sure it will change in a month but if you can wait it may be worth it.
There's a long way to go, spot prices for NAND flash is around 60 cents per GB (http://www.dramexchange.com/). I'd say the major SSD makers can cut prices to 75 cents per GB on SSDs and still make good margins.
As a comparison, 6 months ago when SSDs were $1.20 per GB, NAND spot price was $1 per GB.
