Just thought that I would bring up that this wonderful program known as Spiceworks version 2.0 is now available.

The 1.7v was pretty good but 2.0 seems to run much better.

Any faster? Tried the original one last summer or so...gave up on it, painfully slow.

they claim the network scanning is notably faster, but you still need to have firewall ports (on the individual machines) open. I tried the old stuff and while it didn't look bad for keeping an inventory log or a low-end problem tracking system, it didn't have the functionality for users to submit their own requests. Because of the lack of that feature, I've looked at Web+Center instead. It won't scan the network, but at this time that's not a priority.
