So I downloaded the new version of coretemp which works with Vista x64 to check out my temps. It shows 39-40C across both cores @ stock speeds. I'm fine with that...

So I download speed fan 4.33 and this is what I see

Please tell me these are random off the wall temps and that it's inaccurate...I'd think with temps that high I wouldn't have a PC no more!

Though I will say that when I play games, for instance CSS, there are artifacts like crazy. Also, BF2 is laggy as hell and has frozen up on me. This never happened on my 680i build. I was thinking I just need to reinstall my video card drivers. However, do you think it could be related to whatever is giving these insane temp readings?

[EDIT] Just saw that I also have some -48C temps...I'd assume speedfan is just clueless...

I still wonder why people still use speedfan. It always seems to be wrong.

yea that, but you do have to configure it properly once you install it as it seems to pick the wrong sensors and if it does then you end up with stupid temps like 102oC

Can anyone sheed some light on configuring speedfan? I have one temp that ranges between 22c and 102c, lol, and one that stays at 99-102c. I have vista32.

Also, the Rivatuner measure GPU core temp, right?

You have one 'CPU' temperature which is at a normal 28C, and another which is way too high. I say just discount the one that's too high; I think these programs have a habit of detecting sensors that aren't really there, unless you also have parts of your computer which are currently cooled to -48C. HWMonitor also finds a 'TMPIN0' on my computer which is currently at -20C, but has been as high as 38C, and it has two sets of voltage figures, one of which is way off (my +12V is at 4.13V, apparently).

Yeah, the above Speedfan page isnt mine. I'll see if I can get it mine on here when I get back home. Mine doesn't have a "cpu temp" but "temp 1-3" and a core temp (just one core temp)

Version 4.33 of Speedfan was written a while ago, doesn't support all the latest motherboards/cpus but there's a beta you can get if you sign up at the website. Should be out of beta soon though, the website says.
