Speaker died

I have a pair of Insignia NSB-2111's from 2006 because of all the rave reviews of them when they first came out.

Recently one of them died and I tried swapping out the speaker from the dead box into the other and it worked still so I'm guessing that the crossover went bad. How would I test which component on the cross over bad? Is it even worth it? I bought these speakers for $60 are they were comparable ones out there right now for that price or maybe under $100.

They are worth fixing, They sound good and look far better. Try a wire straight from the speaker to the terminals on the back.

Well if you can get to the crossover components it should cost all of like $1 to fix at Radio Shack... probably just a bad cap or even a bad connection.

Which reminds me, are you sure it's not a problem with the spring clips or something stupid like that? Sometimes dumb stuff just happens.
