So my speakers are kind of old, logitech thx 4.1 something...can't ever remember now. It has a contorl pod thing with volume, bass, fade it. The pots must be going wonky because I keep loosing the bass unless I jiggle the knob for it.

Can I clean those pots to fix it or are they just old and worn out?
 
I would try to clean it with DeoxIT. I've fixed several controls knobs this way.
