So I have a Plantronics GameComPro1. It's basically a re-badged DSP500. When I had my old computer with onbaord sound, the quality was decent. But for some reason on this new comp, it sounds like it's lacking volume and such. Now if I get an x-fi soundcard, will my headset benefit from it even though it has that block "soundcard" on the wires already?

*Some have had SCP problems with X-Fi and that motherboard, I'm one of them. If it works, it kills onboard sound.

So you're saying that the audio the DSP would be coming form the soundcard thus providing better sound quality versus using it from the onboard correct?

make that 2 of us, i thought i had SCP sorted when i moved my 8800gtx to pcie slot 2 but it eventually came back, not as bad as it was before, but it still does it.

Can anyone answer my question? Since the GamecomPro1 headset is a USB headset, will it benefit from a sound card or is it limited to the brick it comes with?

If it is limited to the brick, is there an adapter I can buy that changes the USB to the plugs?

Please try the other conventional $22 Plantronics and a X-Fi, you'll be shocked and never touch USB again. I've never heard any USB cans worth listing to again;) IMHO, they all suck for Gaming.

I would suggest buying quality headphones if you want good sound quality. Cheap $20 headphones are just that -a cheap product with less then stellar sound quality. Check these out for a entry level set...

Connect those headphones with a decent quality soundcard and your in for some great sound in everything.
Cheaper set's may sound alright but they cannot even be compared to sets such as Grado or Sennheisers.
It's your cash so your choice but if your using headphones alot of the time, I would invest.

Please note, that we're talking about compared to USB cans and for Games.

Please note, the general subject is headphones.;)
USB headphones are a quick fix solution for people that don't want to be bothered with soundcards etc. They never sound very good. If you get a normal set of headphones -using 3.5 mm jacks they properly use the soundcard and sound alot better. Depending of course on the quality of the soundcard and the quality of the headphones.

Please snap out of it? I already suggested that to this guy.

This reply because his set is USB and they are teh suck compared to ones that cost half as much connected to an X-Fi for games. A X-Fi he asked about on his first post. About using with USB headphones that I supplied a view or an opinion on.

Snap out of it? Your the one suggesting Junk headphones to the guy.
Don't try and change the meaning behind your post. It is very apparent.
