ok so I built my friend a computer, and everythings running smooth except sound, I can't seem to figure out what is wrong. the system is as follows:

Asus P5GD1 mobo
Intel P4 3.0 ghz lga 775
512mb ddr400 ram
sb audigy 2 oem sound card
logitech 2.1 speakers
WinXP SP2

well those are the relevent specs I guess, anyway my point here being that there is major stuttering of any sound that comes out of the system, I have tried both onboard sound, and audigy 2, both logitech speakers, and other speakers, tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers for either one. really can't seem to figure out what the problem is. I just realized that I hadn't tried disabling onboard sound from the bios when I isntalled the audigy 2, might that be the problem,. or is something else likely the cause? any help I can get would be muchly appreciated

try different slots for your sound card see if that corrects the problem...
