Sometimes when I open a program, say LimeWire, my music playing on Winamp would skip for a second until the program finally loads up. This happens on my brand new Vostro 1500 (1.6 Core2 Duo, 1GB Ram, onboard sound).

Is there anyway to combat this small but very annoying problem?

Does this only happen on battery power or when plugged in too? I have the same problem with my laptop: music breaks up a bit when the CPU is under load; so far, though, I've yet found a solution.
