sound problems when i play mp3s

i just bought a shuttle an35n ultra, a 2500+ XP-M and 256mb more ram (512 total now) to upgrade my comp
i downloaded the newest nforce2 drivers because my video card (msi geforce3 ti200:( ) would only run at 1x. the new drivers fixed that, its running at 4x now, but after i installed the drivers, whenever i play mp3's, they skip and play like they are being fast-fowarded. other sounds play fine though..

any ideas ?
