I have the Santa Cruz. It's nice and all, but I would hold out for the AV710:

What are you going to use it for?
The ONLY reason I would consider the chaintech is if you just want good 2 channel sound, and you are using an amp. The Via Vinyl chip is really nice, and you can run it in 2 channel high quality mode which routes the audio out of the rear inputs through a nice wolfson DAC and the sound quality is great. But:
1. When in high quality mode, all the other inputs and outputs dont work (meaning nothing but 2 channel, no line in, no microphone).
2. If you dont use the high quality 2 channel mode, it goes through a regular via DAC that blows.
3. The drivers have some serious bugs, one of which is that the main volume slider will only adjust one side, so you pretty much just have to keep it at full volume then use an external amp or computer speakers with a volume control or whatever.
But if youre cool with all of that, it has 2 channel audio which will blow away almost any other card including any audigy.
But if you find all the stuff I listed above to be more than just a minor inconvenience, you should really look at getting a different card. Ive had a Santa Cruz before, and I liked it. Audio wasnt as good as the chaintech in 2 channel high quality mode, but it was still damn good. It also has EAX2 support, and 5.1 without compromising sound quality.
