System in sig.

Last logged into my computer fired up WoW and the sound was super funky, it was coming from my monitor and not my 5.1 surround sound speakers.

I right click the speaker icon in system tray and it did not list my Sound Blaster 3D sound card only my Phillips monitor and Nvidia for options. Which made no sense at all.

I go into my Crestive app folder search for updated driver it says no Creative product found in this computer. Ok super weird.

I try all these troubleshooting tips and restarts etc...Nothing.

So I take the sound card and plug into a different slot and reboot. I had to install Creative drivers fresh again and then also enable it from the system tray and restart again, and it finally worked.

Now this morning. Turn on computer and same issue, sound coming from monitor and can't find Sound Blaster speakers.

No idea why all of a sudden this happening. I have had zero issues with my sound for yesrs.

I am doing a full fresh reinstall of Windows 10 now.

Is the card being still being listed in Device Manager? If it's dropping out of Device Manager, the most likely cause would be a faulty card.

Right click the speaker icon on the taskbar, select playback devices.
Is it present there?
