Sony Electronics Profits Up

Thanks to a recent jump in profits, Sony has raised its full-year forecast by 2%. Even though its gaming division is losing money, Sony electronics are selling very well.

The profit jump also reflected the absence of hefty costs booked in the same quarter last year to recall faulty PC batteries, as well as lower marketing expenses in the pictures division and a gain on the sale of land.

Their gaming division lost $849.23 million for the quarter. Their profits would be more than twice has high if they had just dropped the PS3.

But the analyst stated that in another year or two that PS3 will take off and will be the top seller of consoles with Xbox360 in second and the Wii in a very distant 3rd place. Since an analyst stated it that means it has to be true. We just need to give it more time before it makes them billions upon billions.
