my 21 inch sony crt monitor just died on me a few days ago and i called sony .. and they are sending me the newer model .. refurb tho .. but its all good .. i thought i would have to toss the monitor .. and i still have 2 years on my warranty ... nice .. even though i just got my dell widescreen lol .. maybe ill sell the new sony they send me and get another dell lol :)

well the original one was the G520P 21 inch .. but they said i could either send me another one of the same or the newer model .. so i wont know until like monday or so when it gets here
 
so did they request you send the old one back? or are they just sending you a brand new one? did you apply for some extended warrenty or was this standard with the monitor?

the reason I ask is that I have a dying G420S and I honestly didnt even think sony would touch it since ive had it for 2 yrs.
 
i didnt purchase any warranty .. but they said i had a 3 year .. and i had to pay shipping .. and they ship me the new one .. with a prepaid postage .. then i put my monitor in there and mail it back .. not a bad deal .. i thought i was shit outta luck
