Someting is wrong with the clock

I dopn't know what kind of error is this. But the system clock, bios & in xp pro are faster than normal time. 60sec(pc) is like 59sec normal time. Anyone know why this happens. I update the clock, but after 10hrs or so I notice the clock is fast by more than 5 minutes. What gives.

I've got no idea to be honest. How old is the computer and how long has it been doing this?

I built a rig for my parents a little over a year ago.. and it has that same exact problem.. i was never able to fix it.. so if you figure it out let me know.. heheh

Don't forget that PC clocks are highly inaccurate and that software running on the computer can directly affect them. I remember a really bad game I ran on my 386sx20 day, Space Goose. That game did something to the clock, because after I finished running it, 1 second of real time showed a pass of about a week based on the computers clock.

It just happend 2 weeks ago. At that time, I had Mcafee on. Install NAV, found some backdoor trojan, remove that, everything is normal. Now it happens again. I have no idea. OC does not cause the clock in xp to "oc" as well.

I really don't know. I ask TSS, no soulution.

Perhaps something up with the CMOS battery?

the short answer is that your real time clock gen is fuX0red, new motherboard will fix that, sorry. I had one that counted around 5mins every second, damned funny watch the clock spin in windows.

If they have DSL, tell windows to synchronize the time every hour .
