btw i just ran 3dmark2003 and was getting 1-4 fps on some of the cpu tests.. overall score was 5300

Find all updated drivers, direct x 9.0b, motherboard drivers, motherboard BIOS. Everything, and try again.

try 3.6 or 3.7 catalysts if you are having a problem and are using 3.10 right now

if you are not using the 3.10 drivers then go to www.ati.com and get em !

This is a known issue with some ATI users, no one has determined what the cause of poor framerates in half-life based games are caused from. I dont experience terrible rates, but sometimes i think they should be better, for the most part they maintain my vsync setting.

On the forums at www.rage3d.com you may find more answers, but for the most part, if you havnt figured it out, you likely will not until either the problem has a solution found, or we figure out what is causing the problem. At this point its seemingly random, i believe its caused by certain radeon board revisions, or certain types of ram on those boards, but i havnt tracked that theroy.

Ratha

Also, try disabling the key poller and the smartgart utility. The key poller still tends to cause a few problems in certain games i believe, and why not just close all that useless crap anyway :)

thx, but its not just in cs as i stated

yeah i tried 3 diff drivers, and i have all of my mobo/chipset stuff installed
