Hey all im really new to all this computer thing and learning my way up. Not even sure if i can partition a 2tb HDD into half backup and half additonal drive...So please feel free to correct me if im wrong.
Currently Im working with 2 PC and a laptop.
Wanted to know what recommended setup is.

2 Samsung pro SSD 512gb
2 corsair gs force SSD 240gb
2 western black HDD 2tb
1 7200rpm laptop 1tb HDD.
1plextor m5pro SSD 256gb

Suggestion 1:

PC1=RAID0 2 samsung pro SSD = 1tb SSD and partition one western HDD into 1 tb each and use 1 for backup and 1 for additional drive.

PC2=RAID0 2 Corsair SSD=480gb SSD and partition one western HDD into 500gb backup and 1.5tb for additional drive

Laptop=Clone current 7200rpm HDD to plextor SDD and use 7200RPM latptop HDD as backup.

Suggestion 2:

PC1=RAID0 SSD with 1 samsung pro 1 corsair=752gb SSD and use western as backup and addionatl drive

PC2=SAME AS ABOVE 512+240gb=752gb SSD

Laptop=Same as suggestion 1

The corsair gs force RAID0 vs samsung pro RAID0 vs 1 samsung 1 corsair RAID0 is pretty much the question.

Thanks

A "backup partition" isn't a backup at all.

So to do a back for the RAID 0 ssd im trying to do, i should get a seperate drives for the backup only correct? And that HDD for backup can be just any speed HDD correct? Feel stupid now lol but good thing to know.

thanks!

it sounds like your plan is to take a 2TB WD drive, partition it in to 2 1TB partitions, and use one of those 1TB partitions to store a backup of your SSD RAID0.

Correct?

If so, that would be fine. The drive you're backing up to can be any ole drive, and you're backing up to a single drive.

YES using half of the 2tb for the SSD backup and use the other half as just place to store my music etc.

Thank you!
