Just finished piecing my kit together at frozencpu (their prices seem a bit high.. but what do I know)

Firstly, tubing. I'm looking at going 1/2" ID x 3/4" OD, is this a decent size or way too thick?

Phobya G-Changer 420mm Radiator - Black (35196) Gonna try to fit fans on the bottom for push pull, certain motherboards can't do push pull on 60mm rads in the 810 though.. and I dunno if the P8Z68 will have the clearance
XSPC RayStorm High Performance Acetal CPU Liquid Cooling Block - Intel (Sockets LGA 775 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / 2011)

Alphacool Ultra Pure Water - 1000mL x 2

Alphacool Repack Single 5.25" Acrylic Reservoir - Clear - Dual DC-LT (15166) with Alphacool DC-LT 12V DC Pump

Danger Den DreamFlex Value Pack - Tubing / Clamps / Tube Cutter ( 1/2"ID x 3/4"OD ) - UV Blue

$363.83 before shipping

Going compression fittings on all parts

Reason I'm getting a large rad is that I plan on adding GPU blocks (probably SLI setup) later on

If you could give me advice on the parts I've chosen, if it's a good setup for what I plan on running (i7 2600k, eventually two cards)

Is the Res too small, should I get a dual bay?

You'll have to drill new holes to use that rad.

Why? As far as I know the 810 supports 3x140 in the top of the case

For that price I'd go with one of the XSPC extreme kits (240 or 360 rad versions are available).

No problem. Another forum member (sram) and I both have the 240 kit on the way for a build.
I'm trying to decide on how I'm going to mount the radiator in my case... sure wish the larger Nzxt Switch had been out when I bought mine.

ditch the 12 dollar bottles of water or any other kind of fancy liquid and buy yourself a gallon of distilled at walmart for 2 bucks. Add silver coil or biocide and you'll be set for way less than u'd pay otherwise.

Pretty much this. Unless your into cleaning your loop out on a monthly basis, don't go for anything that's dyed or any of the "special" coolants. I got a gallon of Distilled water at Safeway for 67 cents. And my 5 dollar bottle of PTNuke has been used 5 times since I started watercooling a little over a year ago. At that rate, I'll have this bottle of PTNuke for the 10 years.

As for the Switch, do what you like. I have a Raystorm block and love it. Keeps everything nice and cool and looks nice as well.

Make sure if you aren't going compression fittings, to get clamps for your hoses/fittings.

thanks for all the advice everyone, went with black 1/2" ID x 3/4" OD, and compression fittings all around with the rx360 raystorm kit. ill post pics when its assembled!

How hard is it gonna be to take this rig to lans? thats my worry

Lol.... not very easy. Giant case + water cooling pretty much makes it stationary.

My case sits on an Antec Lanboard, which makes it pretty easy to get around. FAR + free shipping = best investment I ever made for my computer, and I'm using a hefty Cosmos 1000.

 you are joking aren't you?

may as well add a 240 radiator to the bottom when you add 2 gfx cards to the loop too.

Thats not even a joke, this case is super heavy after its filled and water equipment installed.

well i have a lan on the 19th of may, ill have to figure something out :/

My case has a 420 and 360 radiator, a 6990, and is constructed out of heavier materials than the Switch 810. The only thing that makes it convenient to move around is the handlebars on top, and I carry it to my relatives every other weekend ;)

Ever since I got the Lanboard though, moving it has been a lot easier, not to mention it lifts my case off of the carpet.

grabbed a lanboard. Until this thread I didn't know it existed!

some updates, had to unscrew the roof to get the rad (with bottom fans already screwed into it) in. you can screw the rad in by itself w/o removing the roof but you cant screw the third fan in (near drive bays)

also, the P8Z68-V/GEN3 can do push/pull with a 360mm (60mm thick) rad in the 810, but you cant use the included braided cpu power connector as its too tall and will hit the first fan on the rad. hopefully your psu cpu 12v connector isnt large (my hx1000 is about as large as you can have)

Can a Corsair HX1000 and an Alphacool 240mm UT60 fit in the floor of this case? Already have the HX1000, about to pull the trigger on the rad (it will be push pull, barbs on the end near PSU)

rad is 280x124x60mm so i think it will fit, just barely
