someone gave me a bunch of scsi drives and some pci cards. i was wondering if this could be useful like raid scratch drives or temp drives for video processing or something. if they are useful, i would put them in my 3rd rig that i use for video processing and overnight jobs. this is what i got:

IBM Ultrastar IC35L018UWD210-0 18GB 10000RPM x 2 (P/N: 07N6350)
IBM DNES-309170 E182115 T 9GB x 6 (P/N: 25L1910)

ADAPTEC 2100S
ADAPTEC ARO-1130C
ADAPTEC AHA-2040UW

i have no idea about raid. i looked a few of these up but have no idea if they can go together or not, or if it's even worth the bother

little help? thanks.

Junk, sorry. It's all so outdated that you'd be better sticking with modern 7200 rpm drives for scratch.

I can't really find a review for the smaller drives, but for the bigger ones you can look here:

It's more or less the same model with different capacities, and the performance should be about the same. Two of those in a RAID 0 wouldn't be all that bad. You could put those on the 2100S. The 1130C seems to be for motherboard with onboard SCSI controllers which this controller converts to a SCSI RAID configuration. I doubt you'll find a board nowadays with that feature.

That said, I'll buy/take the 2100S off your hands if you don't want it. :)
