I just purchased a Lite-on 8x dual format dvd burner. However, I have a couple questions. So far I've only been able to find 4x blank dvd's. Could I burn 4x dvd's at 8x dvd write or would that corrupt the dvd's?
Also, could you guys recommend a good place to buy blank dvd's on-line, preferably a place that sells 8x blank dvds?

Usually when blank media is made they are coded with their rated speed, so i don't think you can override that unless you use some hacked software. I don't know of any, not to mention i don't think its a very good ideal.

I've heard that http://www.meritline.com/ is a good place for cheap media online, i haven't bought from them yet, i've only heard they are good.

Some good quality 4x media is capable of working at 8x just fine. Most burning software does have an autodetect thing where it will detect the speed of the media and not let you exceed that. You would first have to disable that and then try it at 8x and see what happens.
