I have an Olevia display and use a DVI-HDMI cable from my HTPC (nvidia 6150). The resolution was 1280x720 (wasn't filling the screen) then I changed it to 1360x768 (closest to the native 1366x768), I immediately lost video. I currently have a blank screen even after rebooting and I can't recover from it. When I used VGA in the past, no problems at all. It seems that the graphics chip is stuck in a mode that outputs only thru DVI and I can't seem to get VGA to work. I ultimately want to drive the Olevia thru DVI-HDMI and my projector thru VGA. I know the 6150 can do this in dual mode. But how do I get back my video so that I can change the nvidia settings? Suggestions?

It sounds like your resolution is stuck at a strange mode and you can't see anything. First try booting to safe mode (hit F8 repeatedly on bootup).

Safe mode probably uses a resolution that works, but if there's still no video, then follow these steps to change your resolution in Windows even without being able to see anything. If another program is overriding things, it would be best to do this in safe mode so that that program probably wouldn't be running.

1. After bootup, move the mouse to the far top-left of the screen and click once to "select" the desktop.

2. Press the right-click key on your keyboard if you have one. Otherwise, right-click your mouse while being sure to not move it at all.

3. Press up arrow, enter, shift+tab, right arrow 10 times, tab, left arrow 10 times, enter.
