solution for original ASUS 6950s

What I have are the original ASUS EAH6950/2DI2S/2GD5 NOT the DCII version, these were the first gen 2 slot cards. Mine are on the 109-C21647-00 PCB.

Given the age of these I would like an affordable solution. I was looking at the swiftech universal GPU block air RAM/VRM sink combo but they say they don't support my PCB.

Obviously I could get full coverage EK or Komodo blocks but the price just doesn't make sense.

ANybody happen to be familiar with the nuances of these PCB revisions that can suggest a solution or offer an opinion on whether I could modify the Swiftech HD6900-HS Heatsink or HD6970 Heatsink to work?
