My comp won't boot if I take vcore off auto in bios, so I figure if there's software that will do this I can see if I can get around my bios limitations. Ntune has this option but the slider is greyed out (for most options actually). Any suggestions?

Ok, I used crystal cpuid to bump it up to 1.4v and the computer didn't explode or anything, so it can take more voltage. Unfortunately crystal cpuid will only bump it .05 in either direction, so I need something more robust as this only adds like... .03 volts over what my cpu was drawing on "automatic".

what motherboard do you have? many enthusiast boards manufacturer's have software that can do this from windows (such as msi's corecenter for example). sertting from bios is always best tho, if it wont change from there, something else may be wrong...
