Softmod 9800Pro - XT...worth it?

I was just wondering if the performance increase would be worth the extra $$ for better cooling on my 9800Pro so I can softmod it to an XT. I have one issue though. After removing the fan, I noticed I did have the R360 core(Sapphire), but when running ATI Tool, it says I have an R350...?

Yee, I think ya ratio of success is really high if da RAM is 256MB.
 
no software can detect what type of core you have. if it says 360 then thats what you have. make sure u know what type of memory u have too if u are planning on flashing to XT. I've held back on flashing b.c i havent installed a floppy drive to backup my bios yet :D
 
Flashing it was well worth it to me. I noticed an immediate increase in performance, and unlocking the temp monitoring and Overdrive functions was nice too. As for cooling you can get an ATi Silencer off eBay for rather cheap and if your lucky even a stock 9800XT cooler like I did.
