Yeah, for my Birthday on Tuesday.

Now when I was on the phone with BigFootComputers the salesman told me I am ordering tubing that won't work with my waterblock... I told him I know, I heat it up and stretch it over.

What he doesn't tell me is that the block doesn't come with mounting hardware :rolleyes:

Some help that is...

On the box it even says it doesn't come with mounting hardware, but what I need to know is, what exactly comes in the "Maze 4 Chipset/GPU Mounting Package" found here.

In the instruction sheet it says I need:
4 Nylon Shroud Washers
2 4-40 ThumbNuts
1 Backing Plate
1 Backing Plate Pad
And two threaded shafts that are nameless???

Now I don't know what any of you have smoked/inhailed/injected/eaten or just how crazy some of you might be... but I don't see all of that in the picture?

So has anyone ordered that hardware package before and can tell me what comes with it?
 
This is the same package that comes with the block as ordered from dangerden. The only parts that they don't show are the backing plate and conformal pad. (This is just a piece of plexiglass and a foam membrane of the same shape.) These DO come with the package, however.
 
er... nope. That says Maze4 chipset / gpu, which means it's the old mounting kit prior to DD bringing out the plexi backing plates etc. All you get with THAT kit are poles, nuts, washers, springs and thumbscrews. The products' description states only Maze 4 chipset. Case of retailer not labelling stuff up correctly and not having the correct stuff on his site.

The proper mounting kits aren't listed on that site anywhere that I can find. They can be gotten here: http://www.dangerdenstore.com/product.php?productid=202&cat=43&page=1
 
i've got a maze4 low profile gpu block with all the mounting hardware .. includeing backplate and foam...

i opted to just bolt the damn thing straight to the card .. lol

but then again i have a 2pin card and the hardware is for 4pin 6800/7800 setup

i'm holding on to the hard ware for future upgrades ..

I called BigFootComputers today, and this is what they had to say.

They have been getting products from Danger Den with incorrect, and sometimes missing (as in my case) mounting hardware.

My TDX also had a variety of mounting hardware with it, but I got what I needed for free from my good pal NorthWizard.

So the conclusion?

BigFootComputers is sending me free mounting hardware for my TDX and my Maze 4.

They even told me the stuff listed on the website is only for the Chipset Block.

I can't wait to get my Maze 4 on my x800GTO^2, because all I play lately is Diablo II :rolleyes:

But when I play games like Crashday and Quake 4, I don't want the damn stock cooler leaving a ringing in my ears... it's like a leaf blower...

That's it, I'll post back if I ever get the mounting hardware.. last time they didn't mail it to me for my TDX when I originally complained, and I complained to them again and they agreed to send both sets of hardware.
 
Ok, I got my new waterblock all setup now.

They sent me the mounting hardware for the Maze 4 and for the TDX since they didin't ship it last time.

I'll post pictures tomorrow :)

My fluid is pink! From Zerex, it's so good looking, it's the only non-black thing in my room basically.

Well.. everything in my room is black... so I thought I'd add some colour :D

Oh and I also went from 3/8" ID tubing to 1/2" ID tubing, which was much easier to put on, except for my T-Line, which is 5/8" OD I'm pretty sure, it's one of those Brass ones from Home Depot.
 
i just put together a tdx/maze4 combo (well, full assembly is still in progress), and i used 3/8 tubing because you don't have to use hoseclamps. 1/2 does fit over much easier, but i love the no hoseclamps look

I had 3/8" tubing before, it kind of keeps it's shape of the barbs, so it WILL leak after a while.

Be very careful.

any idea what the timeframe is for leaks? i've had it running (outside a case) for about 5 days straight without any sign of leaks, but i'm sure you're talking about a longer time than that

Well I had my 3/8" tubing setup for about 2 months, and after I took it off 2 days ago, it's still held the shape of the barbs very well.

Anybody have anything against the brass T. I would like to use one like that but I always hear not to mix metals in a loop.

The potential difference between brass and copper is small, so there is no problem. I ran across this cool chart in the parker book today at work. I relocated it on the web: http://www.parker.com/TFD/CAT/PDFFILES/U-General Technical.pdf
