I built my new rig last night, but I'm curious to know what kind of temps I should be expecting. Check out my sig for all the system specs. The bios indicated that the CPU temp was around 52C and the System was about 50C. This was with no air conditioning on at the time, so the room was already hot to begin with. These temps were also taken immediately after Windows XP Pro install. The windows install and the driver installs all ran smoothly, so the system is stable. I am just not sure what I should be expecting. I applied a thin coat of some old Artic Silver 3, so I believe everything should be good.

Can anyone who has a similar system check their temperatures in the bios and let me know how theirs compare?

i say thats pretty high at idle, but its hard to gauge when you don't say whats the room temps which makes a huge difference.
 
if it is abnormally high, then you may have reseated the proc wrong....?

also check reviews of the sn27p2 to try and find some temp benchmarks to see if it is ok....

Want one of these myself, probably running an x2 4600 or 5000, as prices have dropped so much, but if temps are this hot at idle.....

I checked my temperatures again today with the air conditioning on, and the temperatures are now hovering in the low 40s, which is relatively normal I believe. Anyhow, just letting everyone know.
