Would it be worth it to purchase the following system or to wait for a new socket 939 system?

SN26P
AMD Opteron 180
ATI X1900XTX
150GB Raptor
2GB Corsair RAM

I heard about some new Shuttles, but was unsure if the 26P was going to be replaced.
 
why oh why would you even think sn26p and ati video card at the same time ever? sn26p = nf4 sli chipset. whats the point of getting that with an ati card? you can't use crossfire on a nf4 sli board, so its just a waste of money to get the sn26p instead of the sn25p.

if you're going to oc, i'd say save some more money by getting an opteron 170 or 175 instead.
 
I'd rather have stability than an overclock. Though the 180 is so overpriced compared to the 175. Will the SN25 and SN26 still be around for a while?

Not to mention that ATI's cards draw more power and run hotter, I wouldn't stuff one into a little Shuttle.
 
What would be the best setup for video in a SN26P, I heard about a lot of heat issues with 2 7800GTX's but it seems like everyone was overclocking. If i used two 7800GTX 256MB's would they run ok temp wise?
 
I have two BFG 7800GTX's in my SN26P and the outside card reaches the mid 80's under load. Apparently the cards can take alot more heat as I have never had any issues, even after hours of gaming. I finished Quake4, FEAR and COD2 recently on my SN26P.

The 7800GTX cards are excellent for use in an SFF as they are much quieter than the 7800GT due to the superior 4-wire fan controller used with the reference design cooler.
