SMP not working??!

I recently installed this SMP thing that i hear so much about

Asus P5N32 E SLI
6700 C2D @ 3.6
8800GTS 640
2 Gig GSKILL DDR2 800
Bunch of Hds
Vista :(
Anyways while runnning the 2 instances of F@H, If I stopped both my cpu usage would go do idle on both cores.
Now here it gets funky, After I reinstalled the SMP version, and may I say its a real pain in the butt specailly in vista me thinks, I would install this as a service, but on bootup i would only be using 40-60% of the cpu...now I know its installed as a service cuz I can go into the service area and stop it. But yet when I do I still am using that same amount of cpu power and I am at a loss...this only happens when I install the SMP service

Any ideas on what is going on with this, or am I still good with the SMP? I dont want to sacfrifice the extra 50% when i could run 2 instances... I just dont understand how this SMP is working.

O And I can open it up in that black box and it works that way also and uses the 100% but.....like i said 40-60% was already being used and this only happens with the SMP installed
 
The SMP Windows is not recommend to install as a service. I did and it didn't work out too good for me either. Try to not run it as a service. If you want something you can "Set it & Forget It) stick with the console version. Otherwise, reinstall run the install bat, and navigate to the folder where installed the SMP version and double click fah

 
so because it was installed as a service this is why its being stupid?I am at a lose on why it was stilllusing the cpu even though it wasnt running

I also tried to see if it was in the task manager which it wasnt ...you gotta go to system proformance blah and find out here are 2 things using the cpu ...i goggled it and both were not virus


o btw I dont mind having to resart it I like seeing the prgress anyways. the old lady turns it off when shes on and i try to tell her on this cpu you dont need to worry :)
 
This is what the smp verison runs on a dual core looking in task manager

I think those are all the process's on a dual core. Uninstall it and do not start it as a service and try what I posted in my first post and post back here
 
alirth i will try that once i can conect to the work server..... i cannot send results for some reason it wont conect... anyone know how to force sent the results via the no nonsense instance? no grafical that is
 
Stanford servers are up and down through out this growing process, it will send sooner or later just give it a little time and remember to use Crtl + C when closing the SMP client down

I just made a shortcut to the desktop for quick clickin' and added the forceasm and advmethods tags.
