Tride installing. while running the deino setup after seting up the password the comant prompt dissapeared. and the client wont run? user password has numbers and capitals netfram2.0 any idea's

Either that or use the MPICH version. Deino version is a bit buggy and I have a hard time setting up personnally when I worked on the installation guide.

Plus another one for VM's

I made a disk image in Jan 08 that is still going strong, with just one client update.
I've 12 VM's running, with a normal failure rate of less than one per week.
If I setup a new box all I do is clone the disk image. Then change its name and remove the old work-unit.
Less than five mins work to setup and I know it will work.

Luck ............ :D

VM stuff is just too in-depth for me...I'm using SMP MPICH on 3 systems and it works fine.
It may put 1-2 WU less a day than a VM, but it was quick and easy to setup using Xilikon's guide. :)

VMs are really not that hard to deal with. Once you've gotten them set up, they require almost no maintenance.

+1^2 for VM. They are surprisingly easy to set up using the guides provided. I also was a little bit intimidated by the VM thing until I tried it and was like, "Is that it?" and the VM was like, "Awww ya, That's it."

how many cores, is it a dualy? 4200+ X2? Or is it a single core?

go wtih Notfred's, works great, you can run a single client, maybe get 1-2K PPD for it.
