I am looking for a small but good ATX case. I am going to have all my raid disks in an external chassis, that I can connect/reconnect. I am aware of Lian-Li PC-V650.

Do you know of any other? Any cases planned?

The Antec 4482 seems to be recently discontinued, but is a pretty small case for ATX boards. Full sized ATX boards (as opposed to some smaller ATX boards that are between mATX and normal ATX) but are a tight fit, but not terrible.

smallest one I've found by far is the Cooler Master Elite 360

it's only as tall as an ATX board (psu lays flat in front of the board) and its very thin.

Nice case, but no tall coolers or long gfx cards

CM 360 and similar desktop cases

OR

GMC R2 or R3 cases, very shot towers, I've got them in the past
my late build

Wow, the Corona R3 GMC is really small indeed! Thanks for the help!

It seems that Lian Li PC-v650 is the most highend of the small cases. It can fit like 6 hard disks, and a really large graphics card. The GMC is so small you can hardly fit anything in it, it seems.

I will read about these cases. Thanx!

EDIT: question about the R3 corona. The DVD is very innovative. Could I replace it to hold a 3.5" disk instead?

I'd not use a disk it that position. SOme older HDDs of mine ticked all time and got noisy after that orientation.
the GMC cases are better with 1-2 SSds only. Could use the SSDs inside the front panel too,

I'd do this with the case, invert the back panel and use inverted ATX with rad on top, to improve the case exhaust... using the back fans as intake....
I almost did that long ago.... with some adaptations

You could opren the front of the case and put some direct fan intaking air to the VGA, lots of possibilities.
The GMC cases are limited to ~270mm video cards and ~140mm height aircoolers, keep that in mind

I have no problem with using a disk in that position, because it will be shut off 95% of the time. I will only power on the disk when I need to backup something.

I will have an external raid case with 8 disks, and 3 more disks in the GMC Corona case. So my ZFS raid consists of 11 disks (8 disks in the external case, 3 disks in the GMC R3 corona case). The raid will be powered on, only when I need to backup something. So, it is possible to place a 3.5" disk instead of the DVD, yes?

I will need a 2.5" SSD disk inside the case. I can just let it hang down, or use duct tape to the side. This should work?

EDIT: it turns out the PC-A05N is also small. Hmmm..... But the Lian Li PC-V650 is smaller. But the PC-v650 has no good cable management. The best would be a PC-v650 with good cable management (some extra space behind the mobo)
