I am wanting to build a mini ITX or similar server to act as a wireless AP/router for my home network but I have no experience with PCs smaller than uATX. I am looking for something:
- As small as possible.
- Low power.
- Reasonably quiet.
- One wired NIC and one wireless NIC minimum for the wireless AP capability.
- Ideally one more wired NIC so that I can use it as a router for the wired network also.
- eSATA would be nice. I could add file serving functions for external drives.
I've looked into a few options but my main problem is wireless. It seems I am going to need an add-on card which is limiting my options for the smallest cases I have found. Are there any SFF cases that support low profile cards? or a small MB with built in wireless?
I would appreciate recommendations. Thanks
