Ok, can anyone suggest a way to slow down a MOLEX connected fan?

the 3-pin i can just fine with Zalman's fan controller or just one of those resistor wires. I haven't seen an adapter that will allow me to slow down a molex connected fan.

Anyone? thanks! :D

switch the yellow wire with the red wire

it'll bump your fan down to 5v... from 12v... so it may be too slow for you...

but its easy... just don't daisy chain anything else off of it... unless its a fan you also want running of 5v... i usually forget this and wonder why my DVD drive will act wonky like it isn't getting enough power...

otherwise you can get a fanbus or an adapter to 3pin.. could even make your own... just no yellow wire (fanspeed monitor)

Here you go, 7 volt mode works great, 5 volt was a bit slow form me, but completey quiet. Depends on the fans used. Test them both out on one fan first to see which mod works for you. Much better than a full 12 volts going to them, too LOUD!!!

Let me know how it worked out.

I finally found my molex tool, and switched the red and yellow wires. Works superb! The fans on the duorb are still fast enough to cool the x1900xt, but quiet now. I have an antec tri-fan hooked into it too, and set it to high and its running about as fast as "slow" on 12v.
