Slot A coolers

I'm obsessed with the quest for silence. Although my Socket A Athlon is now almost silent (thanks to a Cooler-Master X-Dream II and the rubber band trick), my other computer, a Slot A Athlon at 800MHz, could use some work. Right now it's cooled with an 80mm fan hanging from the motherboard power cable. Although there could obviously be more effective cooling solutions, this still keeps the temps down to about 30C, which isisn't even near the limit. Slot A Athlons are ridiculously cool with a minimal effort, it seems.

So all I want is silence, and I know that going fanless isn't going to work, because I've tried it and it made my thermal adhesive melt. It's obviously not a big market--I had a hard enough time finding a decent Socket A cooler, and that's for a chip probabaly half the age of the older Athlon. Does anybody know where I can get a quiet cooler for a Slot A Athlon, and how much it might cost?

Given the difficulty in finding a Slot A cooler have you ever considered other options? Maybe trying to use a 120MM Fan with a low rotational speed mouted near the heatsink? The Vantec Stealths are pretty quiet. I've got a couple of Slot A coolers but all seem to use a 60mm fan that produces a high whining sound.

Actually, that's kind of what I've done. I used a piece of scrap metal and bent it around the fan grille, then bent the other end around the PSU cable.

It turned out tobe the PSU, though, so it's no problem. Thanks.
