Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I know ive seen it before done many times, i currently have access to a notebook dvd writer, i am considering using this in a mod can anyone tell me where to get the adapter for this.. and in actual use what their thoughts are?
The connectors for hard drives and optical drives might be the same for desktop components, but the adapters for slim optical drives are not the same as those for 2.5" notebook hard drives.
Use the one that OKANG found. Mini hard drives and Cd-drives have different connectors (correct me if I'm wrong). The hard drive converters found by SarverSystems will not work with cd drives, and vice versa. Whereas mini hard drives use a connector very similar to that of the IDE connector only smaller and incuding power lines, CD drives use a more SCSI type connector.
Yep. All 2.5" hard drives use a 44-pin interface similar to 40 IDE. Slim CD drives use something entirely different (mini centronics j-connector or something like that). Xonik's links are all to the correct adapters....and the prices are great too.
Thanks for correcting me guys. I totally forgot about that. I have a laptop hard drive sitting here on my desk when I read the post, and had hard drive in my head when I read DVDRW for soem reason.
Yeah, so do what they said. Although, the links I provded prolly have the adapter you need in addition to the one I posted.
