I was attempting to take pictures of my Benq g2400w to show vertical banding that has developed on solid colored backgrounds eg windows screen saver. I noticed that when I looked at the monitor trough the lcd on my digital camera that I could see some strange variations in color that were not visible to my eye, I assumed some non-visible output by the monitor being captured by the ccd in the camera.
BUT, I then noticed that it was actually a reflection of ME off of the screen, ie the heat or IR radiation from my body, reflecting off the monitor that was forming the image. I could wave my arm up and down and see the IR reflection from the screen. Pretty cool! Guess my camera has a crappy IR filter.
Didn't really get any good pics showing the banding, maybe I"ll try again later.
