Single Radiator Good Enough ?

I would prefer a single rad because I can totally mount it inside a midtower case. I am only going to water cool my CPU, a Pentium D. Do I really need a dual rad ? What is the difference in temps between a single and a dual rad ?

What would be the best single rad system I can put inside my case for less than $250 ?

single should be fine unless you're going for hella overclocks or using a peltier.

-DD12v-D5 Pump
-Thermochill PA 120.1 radiator
-Swiftech Storm CPU block
-"X' feet of 1/2 id/3/4"od Tygon 3603 (you'll have to decide how much tubing you need)
-t-line or reservoir to suit

That's the gear I would use.
Should you decide to add the GPU later, the pump should handle it no problem but you may have to add a second rad or go to a 120.2 depending on temps.

Would the Thermochill fit in the bottom front of a V1100 ?

Sheesh. just buy a 2x120mm rad. I sell them for 34.00. No way I would pay 80+ for a rad. The ones I sell also fit in your CD drive bays.

The best thing that will fit inside a mid-tower without any crazy modding would be the single 120mm rad. I think the blackice xtreme should suffice.

And for the price of that thermochill... you could get a blackice extreme III which houses THREE 120mm fans. Im positive that will perform way better if fitting wasnt an issue.

I'm using a single Black Ice Xtreme with 3 blocks and getting pretty good temps, though it really helps to have a strong fan on that thing, like 80 cfm.

Pentium D is a BIG temp dif than your a64.

My swiftech apex (storm) kit worked wonders for my old PD 830 rig.

Yeah, but I doubt a Pentium D puts out more than an A64, a high clocked 6800, and a chipset. Though I suppose its possible...
Either way, I'd say a single Black Ice Xtreme with a good fan is plenty for just cpu cooling, but whatever, your choice.

Ok... if it makes you feel any better, in *most cases*, only a single 120mm rad will fit inside a mid-tower without crazy modding.

Yes it should, you will have to remove 1 hard drive cage tho. Its not hard, just drill out 6 rivets.

Do only the V1000's and V1100's have the rivets ? I know my V1000 Plus didn't.
