Single 120mm Rad

how much room do you have for mounting (Length, width and thickness) and are you planning on running ultra quiet fans or ones that move some mega air?

all other variables be damned.

I want to know, what rad will suck the most heat from my water using high volume fans.

most 120mm rad are about the same i would say that a Black Ice Xtreme is probly better then most it is rated at 3100 BTU it is thicker then most so there is more surface area i myself have a Dtek Pro120 and it seems on par with most others.

if you "must" have more cooling you need a "bigger" radiator

You better have a hefty pump. I have 2 of the Black Ice Extremes and was surprised at the pressure loss when I added the second one to my loop. I don't think I'd even consider a 3rd rad and I have a pretty good pump, the AQX-50Z-DC12. If you do use 3 rads try to find a wb that works well with low flow.

well, if you want pure performance and you are not worried about whether it will fit in your case, there are others that will outperform the BIX (I use one of those to cool my n. bridge) or a dtek procore. With heatercores, size/suface area is usually directly tied to overall performnace. there are single 120 cores that have more surface area than the procore and that flat out beat the BIX single 120 rad into the dirt.

on the other hand, you would have to build the shrouds yourself to get max performance out of them. shrouds add about a 40% performnace boost to a heat exchanger's performance provided they are built correctly.

if you are really not concerned about size, 302s are on the verge of impossible to beat but they are dual 120 cores. 192s are insane as they can pack quad 120s per side - their surface area and heat dissipation levels are off the chart regardless of fans used.

for a single 120 core, take a look at the fedco 2-150 (gdi# 399022) -
dimensions:
core: 7.75" x 6" x 2"
overall w/ tanks: ~9" (close to 8-7/8") x 6" x 2"
nice tanks, easy to mod. should be fairly inexpensive.
copper and brass construction - no aluminum.
