Ok, I have a question that is probably really embarrassing, but since I have absolutely no understanding of overclocking, I need to ask it. I got the evga 7600gt KO card and I am currently looking at different motherboards for the conroe 6600. I have no plans to overclock anything (don't ask why I got the video card) but I was wondering if an overclocked video card requires a motherboard than can overclock?...As I said, I know nothing. Absolutely completely nothing. I was looking at this board which doesn't oc.
Thanks for any help :)

The motherboard is mostly irrelivant for most common video card overclocking, as it is done from within windows, or with a bios flash. I'm still on agp, and I know adding voltage to the agp bus and/or increasing the speed of the agp bus can net slightly better results, but for a normal OC you won't need any of that. Overclocking on the software level (such as using coolbits to do it from the nvidia control panel, or other utils like rivatuner) will be fine, especially considering you won't be overclocking the processor.

yup......Bios OCing is for memory and CPU primarily......GPU OC's are a software OC as arnemetis stated above. That said, most aftermarked mobos (DFI, ABIT, ASUS, and so on) support OCing functions to a degree. That definately cant hurt.
